Brief Summary:

Kate discovers that Peter and Ramsey have been kidnapped and treks out on her own to find them. Meanwhile, Walt delivers the two into the hands of Dr. Moon and Phobia and Dir. Bones and Agent Chase discover Walt's true identity.

Full Story:

Kate is seen arriving at Peter's house to discuss their encounter after the end of the Dumas case and how it didn't mean anything to her, only to find the house has been broken into and Ramsey and Peter are both gone.

Flashing back a few hours, we see Bones, Chase and Kate celebrating her acceptance of Bones' offer to become one of his "independent contractors." Also, Dylan continues his interrogation of tabloid reporter, Ted Shoemaker, demanding to know why he's been tailing Kate. Ted reveals that he knows the truth. That Kate has been sleeping with Dylan, a federal prosecutor involved with a member of the Witness Protection Program would be big news.

Back to the here and now, a team of DEO forensics agents is combing over Peter's house, searching for clues as to their whereabouts. As Chase questions Kate about whether she knew of anyone who might want to do this, Kate recalls the "crank" phone she got after her TV interview about the Shadow Thief case, allegedly from her father. When Chase points out that Kate's father has been dead for eight years, Kate reveals that she was adopted and never told anyone. Kate said she was never able to figure out her real parents' identities, so Chase called up Bones and put him on the case.

While they searched for clues, Walt is driving down the road with Ramsey in the back. Ramsey gets upset with Walt and begins kicking the back of the seat which causes a human hand to fall to the floor from under a blanket next to him. Ramsey screams at the sight of the hand and blood, causing Walt to swerve, drawing the attention of a nearby trooper, who proceeds to pull Walt over. However, Walt was able to easily knock out Ramsey with a flick of his fingers and played it off to the officer that his grandson was just acting up and that's what caused him to swerve. Believing the story, the officer lets him go.

Dylan is laughing hysterically at the notion that he and Kate are sleeping together, which causes Ted to question their true connection. Just as Ted is about to pin Kate as Manhunter, Dylan tries to teleport them away, but Ted fights back, causing Dylan to accidentally kick Ted through the teleporter.

Kate tries to help with the investigation by pointing out the GPS system in Peter's car, but Chase stops her telling her they're already on it and to just give them time. Kate, frustrated and scared, goes out to try a few leads of her own.

She calls Dylan as he exits through the other side of the teleporter after Ted, who is nowhere to be seen. However, Mark Shaw is spotted in the shadows staring out at Dylan menacingly. Since she failed to get a hold of Dylan, Kate goes to a storage compartment to look over her old family effects to see if there's any information she missed concerning her real parents' identities.

Walt pulls up to an old rest area, where he meets up with Dr. Moon and Phobia. Handing over Peter and Ramsey he says to them, "Do what I asked with the kid--and the grownup is all yours." "Yum" is Phobia's reply.

As Kate rifles through old papers, Chase gets a call from Bones. Kate finds a hidden envelope inside an old photo album as Bones reveals that he found out Kate's dad's identity. Kate discovers her original birth certificate along with newspaper clippings about her real father's arrest for the murder of her mother as Bones says....
